Pretty sure someone figured out a method of getting the non-EN files as well (on MSFN?).Speaking from my experience, it is actually very difficult to find working links for non-EN updates. Especially when it comes to less used languages you have to spend a lot of time in Google and even then in some cases the links are simply not indexed at allNow we still can download some update files from windows catalog site, also in other languages.I recommend that we download available files before microsoft deletes them. Also, FWIW, if you go get the script and look inside it all the direct download links are there for EN.Pretty sure someone figured out a method of getting the non-EN files as well (on MSFN?).I agree that is a great resource; my concern is that using direct Microsoft links will fail in the future. This is why it is so important to utilize the WayBack Machine when pointing people to unsupported software; people accessing these threads in the future will at some point be unable to access these downloads with the Microsoft links.
Hello, I have recently bought an MSDN pro subscription and downloaded Windows 2000 Adv. Server since that is the platform my client deploys his web application on. So I downloaded the ISO but found out it is not bootable. Setup.exe is there but not runnable from XP nor DOS.
All files in the I386 folder end in. All instructions I found so far are not applicable. The I386 folder doesn't contain a winnt.exe nor a winnt32.exe. The help files say that the CD should start automatically but this doesn't work mounted as ISO, nor from physical disk. Where oh where can I find the installation instructions for this particular distribution of win2k? I can hardly imagine being to only one stuck with this, but google hits are very very sparse on the iso filename and all in japanese.
Any help would be very much appreciated. Best, Dirk Louwers. Hello, Thanks for your reply. I gathered that since there is a Windows 2000 Advanced Server this would be it.
Some other older Windows versions are available for download to me, like 3.11, 3.0 but not NT x.x for instance. I am now testing functionality on a Win 2003 server but that leads to a lot of unexpected issues due to differences between that and my clients deployment platform.
It's those nagging little differences like unavailability of.NET 3.5 on win 2k, missing CDONTS.DLL on win 2k3 etc. Etc., which is exactly the reason why I want to use the exact same platform I have to deploy on. Hope someone can shed some light on this issue.
